How to Improve Your Lottery Odds

Here are some simple steps you can take to increase your odds of winning the lottery. Using some simple very easy to do things that anyone can do it is possible to change the bad odds that lotteries give and turn things more in your favour.

The odds of winning a standard forty-nine ball lottery, such as the National Lottery in the UK, are approximately 14 million to 1. There is almost no chance of winning. If you want to win a jackpot prize in a 6 from 49 draw with a normal lottery ticket you are dreaming. However, do you realise that by playing all 49 numbers across a number of tickets you are guaranteed to get at least one number correct?

Having at least one number correct may not sound like much. Guaranteeing that just one number is a winner on a lottery ticket doesn't seem to be a very good way of winning the lottery, does it? What is the point of ensuring you have at least 1 correct number? Because with one number correct your odds are reduced from 1 in 13,983,816 to 1 in 1,712,304!

What's more, in a 6 from 49 lottery all you need is 9 tickets to make sure you have those odds and ensure you have at least one number correct! Even on a 59 ball lottery draw (like the New York Lottery) you only have to buy 10 tickets!

That is just a nine pound stake in the UK and a ten dollar stake in New York!

Picking three odd and three even numbers gives you a 1 in three chance of being correct. 50% of winning lottery lines also never have any consecutive numbers.

43% of the time there is never a number in a lottery draw that was in the winning line the previous week - so stay away from the previous weeks winning numbers.

By mixing and matching all the above simple steps when choosing your numbers you can greatly increase the chances of picking winning numbers.
