Winning The Lottery in the UK

The British lotto is known as The National Lottery and is held on a Saturday and Wednesday. The National Lottery is a basic 6/49 draw. To win the jackpot all 6 numbers that you put on a lottery ticket must match all 6 numbers drawn by the lottery machine on the day of the draw. Because the advice given here applies to this draw it can also be used for any 6/49 lottery played anywhere in the world as long as you do your number research in the country you wish to play the lottery in.

Playing a 6 from 49 draw like the British lottery doesn't give you much chance of winning when you purchase your ticket using normal lottery strategies (random picks, choosing significant dates et.).

In fact you have very little chance of winning a good prize because the odds are very heavily stacked against you.

Unfortunately, with odds of 13,983,816 to one against you it isn't really a great investment to pin your hopes of riches on a lonely single lottery ticket!

The UK Lottery has remained the same since it first began in 1994 on November the 19th.In the last 16 years a lot of data has been collected and number patterns have quite clearly emerged.

When you want to immediately improve the odds of picking winning numbers you should look for those numbers that turn up in lottery draws time and time again. And, avoiding number combinations that are never drawn can help you avoid joining the lines of the lottery losers!

Number combinations that go up in twos for example would be highly unlikely to be draw. If you picked one, two, four, eight, sixteen, thirty-two do you think you would have a good chance of winning? Avoid picking all number that are odd or all numbers that are even. Although these combinations do get drawn it is only rarely and the chances of you having all the odd or even numbers right is minuscule. Don't pick numbers that increment by a set amount or follow some obvious pattern as they will have very little chance of being drawn.

So, by studying the lottery patterns of previous draws you can pick numbers that are statistically more likely to be drawn. This is only the beginning however as there are other steps that can increase your odds even more.

Try to have a relatively even spread of numbers if you can. Once you identify the "hot numbers", numbers which frequently turn up in lotto draws, pick ones across a wide range. 6 high numbers or 6 low numbers or even 6 numbers in the mid range are number are combinations that rarely get drawn. Spread the numbers out.

Syndicates win the lottery more often! That' s because wise syndicate players wheel their numbers. If you play in a syndicate or can get one formed a strongly suggest you wheel your numbers!
